Council Members Needed:
An Advisory Council (or Tribal Council, since we are
a bit tribal in the surfing community) is being formed in order to further develop this contest. The primary focus of
the council will be to assist with the upcoming contest, evaluate it afterwards and then focus on the 11th Annual Kahuna Kupuna Classic in the summer of 2010.

Here are the skills and characteristics we're looking for in a KKC Council Member:
-
Believes in the basic goals of the
contest: honor "experienced" surfers, raise money for the Pacifica Beach Coalition and local chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, and bring the various
generations of the surfing community together in a spirit of aloha and service.
- Has a talent they can apply to the
success of the event.
- Has a great sense of humor.
- Follows through on what they say
they're going to do.
- Is able to think "outside the box"
and find new things "inside the box".
- Is
available to meet once in October/early November, approximately once a month from January through April, and about twice
a month in May, June and July, 2008. Each council meeting will be planned at a time that is most convenient for those
on the council. All meetings will take place in Pacifica with the possibility of a surfari-retreat to a surfspot-to-be-named once
or twice during the coming year.
